Building a Spiritual Level in Miami: Daf Yomi Takes Over the Jewish Construction Expo

An unprecedented success at the Miami real estate and construction exhibition: dozens of new learners joined the MDY organization’s Daf Yomi learning circle within a single day.

The “Jewish Expo” construction and real estate exhibition, held for the third year in Miami, hosted an unusual guest this year. Alongside suppliers, contractors, and bank representatives, the booth of the MDY organization made its appearance, aiming to demonstrate that even in the midst of a physically demanding workday, there is room for Torah study.

The initiative, designed to reach people who work long hours in demanding, labor-intensive jobs, produced impressive results on the ground. Already on the first day, about thirty new learners joined and committed to participating in the daily learning track.

“These are people who work extremely hard and sometimes feel they don’t have a single free minute to open a book,” explains Eli Weiss, who initiated the booth. “The fact that dozens of people stopped in the middle of their busy workday to take on daily learning is deeply moving. It proves that even among scaffolding and engineering plans, the Jewish heart is searching for the daf.”

The booth stood out prominently with a large screen displaying the organization’s activities and its accessible Gemara shiurim. Every visitor who joined the learning program received an elegant edition of the Gemara published by the organization for personal use.

In addition to the books, visitors were also given specially designed magnets and stickers to help raise awareness of the initiative.

The central goal of participating in the expo was to build a new community of learners from within the construction industry and to make Gemara study an integral part of the daily routine of the Jewish worker in Miami.

A great success was recorded at the event.
